Our Grapes
Barbera...
,,,a red wine grape having its origin in Italy's Piedmonte Region is not unlike Cabernet Sauvignon with a slightly higher acid level. This makes for a wine which is a good match for full-flavored foods that contain tomato sauces. Other characteristics of a Barbera wine include light tannin levels, deep garnet colors and medium to full body.
Tempranillo...
...a red wine grape native to Spain which is important in the production of Rioja. Tempranillo grapes have been used to make wine in France since the 13th century. As Spain's most important wine making grape, it was taken to the New World as the Spanish Empire expanded. Once thought of solely as a blending wine, Tempranillo is currently enjoying recognition as a "standalone" varietal. Tempranillo wines go well with beef, lamb, bacon, pork, duck, and hard cheeses.
